Who We Are
Our mission is to raise awareness, inspire action, and foster community support for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. Through our annual walk/run and community initiatives, we aim to educate, empower, and uplift while honoring survivors and remembering those we’ve lost.
Our Mission
Our Story
Stride For A Cure was born from a story of resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to helping others live healthier lives.
Founder, Dr. Kim Leverett, spent more than a decade working as a full-time pharmacist before following a deeper calling to help people pursue wellness beyond prescriptions. In 2013, after a routine mammogram, Kim received a life-changing diagnosis: breast cancer.
Her treatment required six rounds of chemotherapy and 35 rounds of radiation. Yet even in the midst of one of the most difficult seasons of her life, Kim continued training her clients and maintaining her own fitness routine. Many people around her had no idea what she was going through.
Kim credits her strength during that time to three powerful pillars in her life: her faith in Christ, the physical and mental foundation she built through fitness, and the unwavering support of her clients and community.
In 2014, Kim was declared cancer-free. Rather than simply moving on, she chose to turn her experience into purpose.
Stride For A Cure was created as a way to raise awareness, inspire healthier lifestyles, and honor the countless individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. What started as a single idea has grown into a powerful community movement.
Now entering our third year, the Stride For A Cure 5K continues to grow as more people come together to walk, run, and stand in solidarity for survivors, fighters, and those we remember.
Every step taken is a step toward hope, healing, and ultimately a cure.
Together, we stride forward.
We serve survivors, fighters, caregivers, families, and advocates, as well as anyone who believes in the power of community, awareness, and hope.
